 The Warbirds Over Georgia event this past weekend was the largest Giant Scale Warbird Association event to date with over 100 pilots attending. Pilots started arriving early in the week for the 3 day event in spite of the hot weather and there was plenty of flying each day from early until late. There were many beautiful airplanes and some great flying.

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 19-20, we will host the South Georgia IMAC Contest. Kevin Garland will be the CD for this event. It's been several years since we've had an IMAC event here so we are looking forward to having the IMAC guys here again. If you have an IMAC suitable plane and would like to enter, come out and give it a try.

See you this weekend, Mac

 Don't forget, we have a Stick Contest this Saturday, May 29. We usually try to get started at 10 AM. You do not have to preregister for this event.

The following weekend we are hosting the annual Peach Pattern Classic pattern contest. This will be a Saturday - Sunday affair June 5 and 6.

Then comes the Warbirds Over Georgia event June 10 - 12. Notice that this event has been expanded to 3 days, Thursday through Saturday. This event has grown every year and has become the largest event on the Giant Scale Warbirds Assn. calendar. All of our hookups were booked for this event but we just had a couple of cancellations so if you need one, give us a call.

Due to Robin and Mike (our scorekeepers) not being able to make the June 26 Quickie Race, we are going to have to change the date. The next available date would be July 17 and I have put that date on the calendar for our next race. We will get the signup list going soon.

Just got back from Austin TX attending Brittany's graduation from the University of Texas. She will be home for a few days and will then be going to Damascus, Syria for a year of study.

We have the new HobbyZone RTF Champ in stock for only $89.99. Great little airplane!

Take care, Mac

Greetings From Hodges Hobbies;

Yesterdays race had a great attendance in the Club 40 class, not so good in the 424 class. We had 13 in Club 40 and 8 in 424. The day started out cold and windy and the forecaster's prediction of 70 degrees never came close. We had a no-show in both classes. I can't emphasize the importance of calling us and letting us know if you can't come after you have registered. It makes an empty spot on the flight line for every race you were assigned to. I'm also disappointed in the Hodgehounds.....WHERE WERE YOU????  The Dixie Aeromasters can take pride that their very own "Team Pink" was present and representing them at the races. Thanks to Robin Drake for his usual great job in doing the computer work that makes it all possible. Also thanks to Trey Witte for being the flightline boss for the 424 class.
